Technical Issue Details
•Bombardier CS-300 (HB-JCE) was operating flight LX238 from Zurich (ZRH) to Cairo (CAI) with 108 people on board.
•During climb out from runway 28, the flight crew halted the climb at FL160 due to problems with the air data system.
•A faulty sensor in the air data system caused conflicting data displays in the cockpit.
Outcome / Handling
•Due to the better and quicker maintenance facilities at their home base, the crew decided to return to Zurich.
•The aircraft landed safely back on runway 14 approximately 40 minutes after departure.
•All passengers were rebooked onto alternative flights.
Current Status
•The aircraft returned to regular commercial passenger service approximately 18 hours after landing back.
