Technical Issue Details
Canadair CRJ-200 (N915SW) was operating flight UA5134 from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Morgantown (MGW).
During climb out from runway 30, the crew halted the climb at 5000 feet due to a landing gear indication in the cockpit.
After running the checklists, the flight crew declared an emergency with air traffic control.
Outcome / Handling
Although the cockpit instruments showed a secure gear-down status, the crew requested a low approach to verify the landing gear visually from the ground.
The aircraft completed a low approach to runway 01R, positioned for another approach, and landed safely on runway 01R about 15 minutes later.
No injuries were reported among the 36 occupants on board.
Current Status
The aircraft remained grounded at Washington Dulles International Airport for technical inspection and maintenance.
