SCAT (DV) launches seasonal Shymkent (CIT) - Tyumen (TJM) service

SCAT has officially launched its seasonal route between Shymkent and Tyumen, adding a new nonstop air link between southern Kazakhstan and Russia’s West Siberian region. The new service not only expands travel options during the peak season, but also supports two-way visiting-friends-and-relatives, business, and leisure demand.

The move into Tyumen underscores SCAT’s clear strategic focus on strengthening its cross-border regional network, where tangible travel demand persists between energy- and trade-driven economic centers. Shymkent is one of Kazakhstan’s most dynamic urban hubs, while Tyumen serves as a key gateway to West Siberia with a well-developed industrial and services base. With no direct competitor currently recorded on the route, the new service shortens journey times, improves convenience, and enhances connectivity between the two markets.

In the initial phase, the route is being operated on a seasonal basis with a frequency of one to two round trips per week, depending on the schedule period. SCAT is deploying the Boeing 737-800 on the sector, matching market demand while ensuring efficient operations on this medium-haul route.

Shymkent is among Kazakhstan’s most vibrant cities, where modern urban life blends with the historical depth of the Silk Road. From the city, travelers can easily access nearby Turkistan, home to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
